HOW TO GET TO THE LODGE

By train

The closest station is Berlin-Ostbahnhof. From there get bus no. 240 (departs every 10 minutes from main entrance) and get off at the stop Boxhagener Platz – it takes less than 10 minutes. From here it´s only about 2 minutes to walk to the LODGE. Once you got off the bus, walk backwards and turn left into the first street: Gabriel-Max-Straße. Keep walking on your left hand side till you reach no. 2 – the LODGE house.

The same bus (240) also departs from the new main station (Hauptbahnhof). It takes 20 to 40 minutes, depending on the traffic.

From airport Schönefeld (SXF)

Follow the signs to S-Bahn (City train). Take S9 in northern direction (city) and get off after about 30 minutes at Warschauer Straße. From there it is a 10-minutes walk or catch Tram M13 for 2 stops (more detailed describtion below at “Finding the LODGE from S-Bahn station Warschauer Straße”.

From airport Tegel (TXL)

There is several possibilities. Such as to catch the bus TXL to Alexanderplatz and change here to the underground U5 direction Hönow. After 7 minutes get off at Samariterstraße and walk about 8 minutes the the LODGE. Alternatively catch any S-Bahn from Alexanderplatz in eastern direction and get off at Ostkreuz station. Or you get bus X9 at Tegel and go to Jungfernstieg, there change into the Ringbahn to Ostkreuz station.

Public Transport – the closest stops and stations

U-Bahn = subway / metro
S-Bahn= City train

U- und S-Bahn station Warschauer Straße (approx. 10 walking-minutes to the LODGE) : amongst others, U1 direction Kreuzberg and western Berlin, as well as S9 to airport Schönefeld stop here.

S-Bahnhof Ostkreuz (approx. 12 walking minutes from the LODGE): here stops Ringbahn and several other city trains. By Ringbahn you can do a city-tour all around Berlin in both directions. You get to this station walking along Sonntagstraße through the neighborhood.

U-Bahn station Samariter Straße (approx. 8 walking-minutes to the LODGE): from here you get directly to Alexanderplatz within 7 minutes by catching U5 (direction west).

Tram M13: Wühlischstraße / crn of Simon-Dach-Straße – from here it´s only 2 stops to station Warschauer Straße – or in the other direction to Frankfurter Allee station.

Tram M10: straight to Prenzlauer Berg and Nordbahnhof in approx. 20 minutes via Danziger Straße. Stops Warschauer Straße – about 5 minutes walking distance. Service on weekends all day and night.

Finding the LODGE from S-Bahn station Warschauer Straße

Walk to your right (northwards) along Warschauer Straße and turn into the second street to your right: Kopernikusstraße. Here walk straight ahead till you get to Gabriel-Max-Straße, turn left. The LODGE is to be found in the first house on the right hand side.

You could also catch tram M13 direction Virchow Klinikum. It stops after about 100 m walking north on the bridge. Get off at the second stop – Libauer Straße – keep walking another 200 m following the tram tracks and then turn left into Gabriel-Max-Straße.

By car – coming from Mitte

From Alexanderplatz follow Karl-Marx-Allee in eastern direction. At the first traffic light after Frankfurter Tor turn right into Niederbarnimstraße. At the first cross road turn left into Boxhagener Straße and then again right into Gabriel-Max-Straße. Then you will cross 2 more streets and will find the LODGE house almost at the end of Gabriel-Max-Straße (corner Wühlischstraße).

By car – coming from Kreuzberg

Crossing the river Spree via the bridge Oberbaumbrücke, continue straight ahead on Warschauer Straße (another bridge crossing train tracks). Turn right into the first street after the bridge at the traffic lights: Revaler Straße. Then turn left into the 3rd street Dirschauerstraße and go ahead until it´s end. Then it´s a short right-left-combination around the little green square. Crossing Wühlischstraße you get into Gabriel-Max-Straße (virtually extended Dirschauerstraße).
